Solar Energy
Solar equipment, explained.
A’amedat Al-Ibdar supplies the four parts of a solar energy system. Here is what each one does, and what to tell us when you ask for a quotation.
Brands and models are confirmed in each quotation. Detailed listings will be published on this page once the range is confirmed.
- 01
Solar panels
Solar (photovoltaic) panels convert sunlight into direct-current electricity. Several panels are wired together into an array, sized to the energy you need and the roof or ground space available.
What to specify
- Power rating per panel
- Dimensions and weight
- Number of panels
- 02
Inverters
The inverter converts direct current from the panels into alternating current for the building. Hybrid inverters also manage batteries and can work alongside the grid or a generator.
What to specify
- Output power
- Single- or three-phase
- Grid-tied, hybrid or off-grid
- 03
Batteries
Batteries store surplus solar energy so it can be used after sunset or when the grid is off. Their capacity sets how long the stored energy can run your load.
What to specify
- Capacity
- Battery chemistry
- Compatibility with the inverter
- 04
Mounting & cabling
Mounting structures fix the panels to a roof or the ground at the right angle. Solar cabling and protection devices connect the panels, inverter and batteries safely.
What to specify
- Roof or ground mounting
- Cable lengths
- Protection devices
System types
Grid-tied, hybrid or off-grid.
The same parts can be combined in three ways. The right one depends on whether you have a grid supply and what should happen in a power cut.
- 01
Grid-tied
Panels and an inverter work alongside the grid, with no batteries. It reduces what you draw from the grid, but it normally shuts down during an outage.
- 02
Hybrid
Adds batteries and a hybrid inverter. Solar power is used first, the surplus is stored, and the batteries take over when the grid fails.
- 03
Off-grid
Works without any grid connection, so the panels and batteries must cover the whole load. It suits places with no grid supply, or an unreliable one.
